BarryM Nail Varnishes

I finally jumped on the bandwagon and got myself some BarryM nail varnishes. Yes, I know I'm extremely late into it, but I've only really just ventured out of my shell and into the beauty world, haha. I don't get much chance to wear nail varnish as I work with animals, but because I don't have any nail varnishes, I thought I better get some so the chance is actually there. I love the two choices that I got...

As I've decided to go cruelty-free, I was glad to find out that BarryM is of course, cruelty-free. So I was delighted to have an excuse to buy some finally, as I'd have always used my mum's if I had wanted to use any. I picked up the Matte Nail Paint in the colour Espresso, which was the first one that caught my eye. I love everything that is the colour black, and I've really been loving matte black lately, so this was the perfect one for me. It dries really quickly once applied, and you can just wear one coat if it if you want but it does last longer if you apply a second coat. It is completely matte black which is a bonus as I was expecting it to be a little bit glossy, but I was pleasantly surprised. I just applied this one with two coats of varnish, so it lasted quite a while before it started to chip. Usually with black varnishes, it can prove quite difficult to get off and is very stubborn and leaves a weird colour to your nails afterwards, but with this I found it came off super easy and it didn't stain my nails in any way.

Yes, I used the same picture again, but this one didn't have the filter on and I thought I had more images but it turns out I didn't. The other polish that I purchased was the BarryM Nail Paint from the Aquarium range, in the colour Pacific. This varnish is a two-toned paint, so it shines a blue-green depending on the lighting. I really like this as I've always been fascinated with things that are two-toned colours as they're really pretty to look at. The blue is absolutely lovely when it's dried, but pictures don't do it justice. It's one of those colours you have to try for yourself and you'll be like 'ahh I see'. Similarly with the black, you can just apply one coat, but I found that I preferred the depth of colour when there was more than one coat of paint applied. Again, this has a good, long staying power and doesn't chip quickly. And isn't the design of the lid cute?!

Both of these nail varnishes were £3.99 each and I purchased these from a Boots store. You can also buy them from various other places, as well as online. I just feel like seeing them in person does them more justice. My brother also approves of these as he helped me pick them out. So there's a recommendation from a teenage boy if that helps you in any way, ha. After trying these two, I definitely want to try more colours from their ranges, so keep your eyes peeled for more from BarryM on here!
