Nip+Fab Kale Fix Moisturiser.

As I promised, I am back with a post as my marble props arrived, woohoo! They're all a little bit smaller than I was hoping for, but oh well, I love them all the same. If you've read some of my other skincare related posts, you might have picked up on the fact that I have a tough time with dry skin. Whatever that reason may be for my problem dryness, I try out a lot of different moisturisers in my pursuit to find one that completely tackles my dry patches. So it's no surprise that I picked up this particular new moisturiser from Nip+Fab's new Kale Fix range. Having used some of the N+F range before, I was already aware that they are of a great quality so I was holding a candle for these to live up to my expectations. So I began my new little journey of using this new-found beauty.

As soon as I got this product home, I immediately swapped my other moisturiser for this one at night. This was because I had a bit of an inkling that this was going to be a bit more heavy-duty, so I'd probably see results quicker if I used it as a night cream and let it sink in without putting anything over the top of it. The one thing that grabbed my attention about this is the fact that it says 'kale' in the name. I've always read that kale is a pretty great vegetable, and it's sometimes even classed as a superfood in some places, so this must be a great ingredient if people go crazy over it, right? As well as being a moisturiser, the ingredients are also meant to help soften the skin which is another added bonus. Not stopping there, it also claims that it will protect your skin against any external factors that will cause dry skin as well as helping to moisturise what's already dry, so this little chap has a lot to live up to already. But after taking a more in-depth look at the Nip+Fab website at the ingredients, I was pretty much convinced that it was going to do the job almost perfectly.

You might be asking yourself why I was convinced. Well, I'll tell you. Just to name a few of the ingredients in this product, there is kale as the name suggests, as well as almond oil, and watercress, which all help to provide some high quality vitamins that help to combat dry skin. But there is also shea butter, which is very well known for helping to soften and moisturise skin, as well as there being aloe vera in the mix with all of those, which is also known for being great for the skin. Judging by all of this, it was looking like a complete miracle product. Also, I purchased this for £13-£14 from either Boots or Superdrug during a sale, so I was blown away by the price.

Before I tell you exactly how I got on with it, can I just mention that I love the simplicity of the product packaging as much as I like the list of ingredients. There's minimal design on the bottle, and I love the colour scheme. The bottle itself is an off-white colour with a very slight green tint to it, which makes it stand out a little, as it's not your average white bottle. The small hints of blue and green on the bottle just link straight in with the kale element, which I find really pleasing as it shows that they've thought about the packaging more than you would have initially thought. It doesn't have a list of ingredients on the bottle itself, which is a little bit unusual, but I cannot remember whether there was a list on the outer box as my boyfriend threw it away without me noticing - cheeky! I'll leave the link here where you can go to the Nip+Fab website to see the list for yourself.

As I mentioned above, I incorporated this into my skincare routine the first day that I made this purchase. As I have dry skin, I like to use a thicker formula at night so that it can sink in whilst I'm sleeping and have more of an effect than if I applied it in the morning before my makeup. This is just down to my personal preference, there is no wrong way of when to use this. It says on the bottle to apply day and night after cleansing your face, so it's entirely your choice. The formula of this is quite thick, which I'm pleasantly surprised about - I've experienced a lot of thinner consistencies to moisturisers that are meant to be quite heavy duty. With that being said, even though it was thick, it didn't feel like I was applying a mask to my face when I put it on my face and massaged it in; instead it sank in really quick and this was a lovely thing to experience as they sometimes take forever. I could feel that I had product freshly applied to my face for a short period of time after applying, but within ten minutes at most I couldn't feel it as it had already started working it's magic on my skin. I noticed results straight away in the morning as soon as I woke up. My skin felt so much softer and smoother to the touch, and it looked so much more healthy because it was just so moisturised. It was almost as if my skin was glowing with approval at it's new-found saviour. It meant that my foundation went on so much easier and smoother, and it also meant that it stayed on for longer. My face didn't feel dry or tight at any point after using this - and this was all after just applying it once on the first night. I honestly swear by this at the moment, I've tried some amazing moisturisers this year, but by far this is my new holy grail and is the best I've experienced yet. I've been using this every night without fail and my skin has not once developed a dry patch. It works so well that I've only needed to apply this at night, and then use my slightly thinner Skin Drink moisturiser by Lush in the morning before my foundation.

If you're someone who has dry skin that can sometimes be sensitive to anything new and you're looking for a super quick fix, I could not recommend this enough. Usually it takes my skin a little while to show results to a product, and I usually get breakouts through swapping and changing as it gets so sensitive and fussy... But with this, I haven't had a single breakout and my skin has been so good in regards to hydration and texture since using this. It is a little bit more pricey than some drugstore moisturisers, but a little goes a long way with this as the consistency is thick and you will definitely get your money's worth with it! And it also smells healthy too, which I hadn't mentioned yet.

Have you tried any of the Nip+Fab range, or any of their new Kale Fix range? Or are you thinking about it? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

  1. I recently subscribed to GLOSSYBOX and with my first order I received a trial size of this moisturiser. I have my preferred skincare routine already but I thought I'd give this a go. I'm so glad I did, firstly the product smells lovely, the cucumber really stands out and smells so fresh. I use this at night and from the first use I noticed a difference. My skin is so hydrated and soft and this really soothes and calms the skin. I would definitely recommend this.

I'd love to know your thoughts on a post, so every comment is appreciated.
